We have been in the business of beautiful hair for over 40 years.  Formerly on Newbury Street, our salon has been in charming Winchester center for the last 20+ years.  We are a unique salon, offering discerning clients a distinctive blend of two characteristics — recognized proficiency in state-of-the-art hair care, delivered in an inviting atmosphere that is relaxing, warm and friendly.

Unlike full-service spas, or spa salons, we focus exclusively on hair, a concentration that provides us the experience and expertise to create the precise look and feel that compliments our client’s unique persona and lifestyle.

Meet our Stylists

Alex
The minute you meet Alex, you will know he is a true professional and that his passion is hair. After opening Alessandro Salon in Braintree many years ago, then moving to Newbury Street, Alex is grateful that his clients from all over Massachusetts continue coming to Winchester to see him.
Alex has travelled to hairstyle hotspots such as London, Milan and Rome to be trained at the top salon academies like Trevor Sorbie, Tony and Guy, Vidal Sassoon and Graham Webb.
Even after years of international training and owning his own salon, Alex remains driven to keep abreast of developments within the industry, creating colors and styles so that his clients feel great about themselves.

Tony
Tony has been a practicing hair stylist in Winchester for over 30 years.  He describes himself as an all around family oriented stylist and has developed a very loyal and varied following over his many years in the business.
Tony greatly values his long standing relationships with his clients.  He capably turns his creative hand to every aspect of hair styling in order to realize his clients vision, consistently delivering high quality cutting edge services.
Tony does a lot of men and boys haircuts and his busy gentlemen clients appreciate that he is able to get them "in and out" efficiently.  

Andrea
​Andrea's artistic flair and love for high fashion makes her a wonderful asset to Alessandro Salon. Andrea has regularly styled models in the weekly fashion shows "Fashionably Late" at Beacon Street's Liberty Hotel and her editorial work has been featured in the Improper Bostonian and Boston Common.
With over a decade of salon experience Andrea is a strong believer in continuing education, attending workshops and shows to keep her skills current with the latest trends.
Andrea is the go-to stylist for brides desiring a very special look to enhance their wedding day.  Her unique cutting style and color formulation skills make avid fans out of her clients. She offers hair extensions, is Keratin treatment certified and also gives a "mean foil"!

Karissa
​Qualified through North East Vocational, Karissa strives to stay at the forefront of her field with her knowledge of new products and services available in order to provide excellent service to her clientele.
Wella certified, Karissa specializes in cutting edge coloring techniques including foil highlights, lowlights and custom color blending and color correction, stating that she delights in seeing a transformation in her clients in a single sitting. 
Karissa places high value on listening to her clients, understanding their needs and respecting their hair....and she strives for unlimited creativity!

Kristen
Kristen brings over a dozen years of experience to Alessandro Salon and is an unstoppable force in creative color techniques.  Building on her foundation at New England Hair Academy, Kristen is passionate about advanced certifications and taking specialist classes and combined with her love of current fashion, she is highly regarded by her peers and loved by her clients!  As an advanced Goldwell Colorist, whether you’re looking for a  Brazilian Blowout or Balayage highlighting, Kristen has you covered.

Allison
Alessandro Salon is lucky to have Allison with her enthusiasm for all things hair and excellent work ethic.  A skillful colorist, Allison loves continuing education and building on her zany creativity by taking classes such as “Hair Freaks Color Geeks”!  Qualified through Northeast Metrotech, Allison is your “special occasion go-to” for a striking up-do and beautiful makeup application that will have you feeling like a million dollars.

Artworks

You may have noticed the paintings on display in the salon.  Alex's artistic talents are well known beyond his hair stylists chair - he is also an accomplished contemporary artist specializing in abstract painting.  His passion for color and texture are evident in his work.  Alex particularly enjoys commissions where he creates unique artwork for individual spaces and would be happy to discuss creating a customized painting for your home!
